Hyper/supermarkets and hard discounters represent about $240 billion; neighborhood stores, including traditional grocers, $115 billion; and specialized food stores such as frozen food stores, organics, and open-air markets, $35 billion. Hard discounter’s represent 11.5 percent of the total sales.
