Chinese berries behind Hepatitis A in Australia
Australian health authorities have triggered a recall for Creative Gourmet frozen mixed berries in 300 grams packs with a best before date of January 15 2021 because they are linked to a strain of the virus, a health alert released by Australian government read.
The precautionary recall was triggered on June 2 2017 following the reporting of four cases of infection.
A statement signed by Dr Brett Sutton, deputy chief health officer, explained that consumers have been warned to avoid eating this recalled product as it may potentially be contaminated.
Creative Gourmet frozen mixed berries 300g packets are processed in China and distributed through IGA and Foodworks supermarkets by Entyce Food Ingredients, based in Victoria.
