Summary
According to Article 6 of the Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the Netherlands, herewith referred to as the Evaluating Member State (EMS), received an application from the companies Makhteshim Agan and Arysta LifeScience SAS to modify the existing MRLs for the active substance captan in blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, currants (red, black and white) and gooseberries. In order to accommodate for the intended indoor and outdoor uses of captan on these berries in the Netherlands, it is proposed to raise the existing MRLs. The EMS drafted an evaluation report according to Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 which was submitted to the European Commission and forwarded to EFSA on 23 June 2011.
