Summary
According to Article 6 of the Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the United Kingdom herewith referred to as the Evaluating Member State United Kingdom (EMS UK), received an application from the Horticultural Development Company to modify the existing MRLs for bentazone in herbs. In order to accommodate for the intended use of bentazone on fresh herbs in the United Kingdom, it is proposed to raise the existing MRL from 0.1 mg/kg (set at the limit of quantification (LOQ)) to 15 mg/kg. The EMS United Kingdom drafted an evaluation report according to Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 which was submitted to the European Commission and forwarded to EFSA on 20 December 2010.
