6. | Description of content: The main goal of the Draft is the harmonization of Ukrainian Legislation with the EC standards on the safety and quality of foodstuff, feed, health and welfare of animals.
The Draft establishes requirements for the organization and conduction of state control by the competent authorities in order to determine the compliance of the market operators with food safety and feed requirements as well as legislation on animal health and welfare. The document also defines the general requirements for the organization of state control including the requirements to competent authority concerning state control conduction, responsibilities and power of state inspectors. Three chapters (fourth, fifth and sixth) of the Draft Law regulate state control measures of foodstuff and feed imported to the custom territory of Ukraine. Also it foresees physical checks of animal origin products and the ability of reducing the physical checks frequency. |
