Tomates/China: fuertes lluvias afectan producción para proceso
CHINESE processing tomato plantings in Inner Mongolia, the country’s second most important production area, are reported to have been damaged by heavy rain, and the crop is likely to be further reduced from recent estimates.
A source at a major processor in the country told FOODNEWS that total production in China may go below 4.5 million tonnes, that is, more than 500 000 tonnes less than the last official estimate, of 5.0 million tonnes (FOODNEWS 22 June).
