Polonia produciría más fruta esta temporada, a pesar de una reducción de 6,3% en área y pérdidas significativas debido a heladas en mayo
POLISH fruit production is forecast to be significantly higher than last year despite a 6.3% reduction in area and significant losses of stone and soft fruit due to frost damage in May. The increase is mainly due to a much larger apple forecast. Pear and sour cherry volumes are also expected to be higher.
The total fruit harvest will be around 3 million tonnes, according to initial estimates by the Agro-Economic Institute (IERiGZ), AMI reports. This is 11.8% higher than last year’s total of 2.74 million tonnes.
