Pasas/México: productores preocupados por recientes lluvias
MEXICAN producers of raisins are said to be concerned over recent rainfall, and have added that if more rain falls in the coming days the harvest might see more diseases.
Jesús Valenzuela Ruiz, head of the National Forest, Agriculture and Livestock Investigation Service (Inifap) explained that more than 70% of raisins were now laid out on trays. “We are now hoping that it does not rain in the next seven days, and then we will be fine,” he said. “The effects that we have already seen have been minimal due to the drought, but producers are still worried.”
