Pasas/EE.UU: fuentes en Fresno estiman producción 2013 en 370.000 toneladas (cortas) comparado con 350.000 toneladas en 2012
Sources in Fresno, California report that this year’s US raisin crop should top 370,000 short tons compared with about 350,000 tons last year.
This is excellent news for the US raisins industry which has seen a decline in the number of exports to Europe and other markets. Sources report that this year raisin growers are proposing a sliding scale for the crop ahead which could mean payments up to USD2,000 per tonne which would be a record for the industry. The Raisin Bargaining Association delivered this proposal to the packers earlier this week.
