Oct. 27, 2011Industria enfrenta catastróficas pérdidas
THE crisis in the Chinese AJC industry has deepened. FOODNEWS’ latest information is that the raw material price has risen to CNY1 800 per tonne (over USD280/tonne) and that most (if not all) processors have withdrawn from the market while they try to work out what to do next.
Despite the sky-high prices being offered for fruit, little or no apples are coming into the juice plants and processors are facing catastrophe. It is being suggested that China’s total annual production of AJC this season could be well below 400 000 tonnes.
