Frambuesas/Polonia: baja producción gatilla aumento de precio

 Poland’s raspberry crop is drawing to an early and disappointing close, instigating price rises and concerns over availability of product.

Raspberry production in the country will be shorter this year and, although sources’ claims differ on the final figures, all those contacted by FOODNEWS agree in saying that volumes for freezing and IQF will not be high. Overall, it appears that supply may prove difficult by the end of the year; this has triggered a rise in prices, which are thought to remain on the high side for some time – according to some, until well into 2014.
