Exportaciones caen durante septiembre, comparadas con el mismo período en 2010
PERUVIAN asparagus exports fell significantly during September compared with the same period in 2010, according to the Inform@ccion market consultancy based in the country. Data for weeks 36, 37, 38 and 39 reveal shipments of all types of asparagus fell 25.6% year-on-year to 11 922 tonnes.
Fresh asparagus exports saw a fall of 22.1% to 9 851 tonnes, but canned product took an even bigger hit at 43.97% during the period to 1 685 tonnes. Conversely, the country’s frozen asparagus exports rose 5.75% year-on-year in September to 386 tonnes. For the season to date Peru’s shipments are only 5% down with volumes of 112 951 tonnes.
