EE.UU: Disminuyó 3% la producción de frutas utilizadas para procesamiento en 2017
Non citrus Fruits Highlights:
In 2017, the Nation’s utilized production for the 25 estimated noncitrus fruit crops totaled 18.5million tons, down 1 percent from 2016. Fresh utilized production totaled 8.11million tons, up 1 percent from the previous year. Processed utilized production totaled 10.3million tons, down 3 percent from 2016. In terms of utilized production, the three largest crops were grapes, apples, and strawberries, which combined for 79 percent of the noncitrus fruits total. Bearing acreage totaled 2.03 million, down 2 percent from the previous season. The major deciduous crops accounted for 1.68 million or 83 percent of the total bearing acreage.
The value of utilized production for 2017 noncitrus fruit crops totaled $18.6billion, up 4 percent from the previous year. Grapes, apples, and strawberries claimed the highest values, accounting for 73 percent of the total value of utilized production when combined.
