May. 31, 2013Duraznos/Grecia: producción caería 25% respecto al promedio de los tres últimos años
THE Greek Canners’ Association has provided further detail on the conditions of this season’s peach crop. As yet, there are no official estimates on damages, but the association hopes to avoid market shortages.
“The last three years, the average production of yellow cling peaches in Greece was 400 000 tonnes,” wrote Costas Apostolou. “Compared with this quantity, we estimate that this year’s production will be less by approximately 20-25%. If we take into consideration only last year’s production, which was high, then reduction will be at the level of 30-35% as far as raw material is concerned.
