Duraznos/Grecia: cosecha se ve afectada por granizo
GREECE’s peach crop has been hit by a severe hailstorm, and has reportedly suffered considerable damage.
“On 10 June during the afternoon, there was a major hail storm in northern Greece,” Costas Apostolou of the Greek Canners’ Association said. “The hail struck harder in the prefectures of Imathia and Pella, the heart of the Greek peach production. Both the size of the hailstones and the duration of its fall are unprecedented in this area. So far, producers are speaking of big damages to production. However, it is too early to make a specific estimate.
