The proposed regulation revises general standards and material specifications for equipments, containers and packages
(1) Material specifications for lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium in 38 synthetic resins are moved to general standards.
(2) This draft regulation also establishes migration limits for:
· diphenylcarbonate in polycarbonate (PC) · hydroquinone in polyetheretherketone (PEEK) · 4,4′-methylenedianiline in polymer-coated metal (3) Migration limits of 43 food contact materials are amended from heavy metals to lead (Pb).
(4) Specifications of polymer coated paper are to follow migration limits of synthetic resins in contact with food (5) Migration limit for non volatile paper residue is removed. |
