Almendras/España: productores estiman producción en 9 millones de kilos

AGRICULTURAL organisation COAG Murcia has said its almond harvest this year is “in full swing”, with producers expecting a harvest of 9.0 million kg, “which is bigger than previous years”, while the harvest will be earlier this year as a result of drought and “water stress”.

In a recent press conference, Pedro García from Agriculture at COAG Murcia said the main worry for producers was the “wave of thefts” which has meant stepping up security.
