The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety (BIEFS) updated the list of products and codes subject to Decree 248. The PRC has not notified these changes to trade partners. Between May 2, 2024 and July 8, 2024, BIEFS added 60 products and removed 13 products.
GACC added 60 products and removed 13 products. The attached spreadsheet contains three tabs: one for the current list as of the date downloaded, another for recently removed products, and one for recently added products. The changes affect aquatic products, edible vegetable oils, frozen fruits, dried fruits, canned fruits, candied fruits, fresh and dehydrated vegetables, grain products, grain milling industrial products and malts, milk products, protein beverages, plant spices, nuts and seeds, food preparations, and functional foods.
Some of the updates are not complete removals of the products but additions of the same products with different Customs, Inspection, and Quarantine (CIQ) codes.
